Library consultation

The biggest transformation in the history of Warwickshire’s Library Service is now underway and everyone is being urged to have their say. A 12-week consultation has begun, and to ensure every person in the county has the opportunity to air their views on the proposals, the details will not only be on the web, but there will also be displays, posters, roadshows and community events.

Warwickshire County Council is conducting a 12-week public consultation on the proposals to reshape library provision and save £2 million over the next three years The consultation began on March 18 and will run until June 9, giving local people a chance to find out more and share their views before any final decisions are made.

One Response to Library consultation

  1. Mike Downes says:

Great to see this blog started. The external related posts on the main front page are listing library posts in the USA, so perhaps best to remove them or reconfigure? I will also be collating all the meeting and roadshow dates into one calendar/sheet – do yo have one already? This will help anyone wishing to get involved to share resources and knowledge.

What I would really like to see on this blog is live ideas of how to save a library. There is no use each activist group reinventing their own wheel. When will we all have access to the enquiries that have come in already. In my view, 9 June is far too late as Cabinet is on 14 July. I do understand there to be an Overview and Scrutiny at the end of June?

If the NEWS section is to work, maybe best to bring in some feeds or use Yahoo Pipes?
